Last month, Taco Bell Foundation Champion, Golden State Foods (GSF), invited Taco Bell Foundation and our Live Más Scholars to a special community event alongside Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County & the Inland Empire (BBBSOC). As part of our commitment to empowering youth, we partnered with GSF Foundation, Taco Bell Corp. and Taco Bell Franchisees, to assemble and donate brand-new bikes to local children on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County (BBBSOC) waitlist, giving them both a ride of their own and a memorable experience.
Volunteers were “Bigs for the Day,” working alongside “Littles” to assemble and learn to ride their very own bikes. From securing wheels and conducting safety checks, to helping kids pick out brand-new helmets, volunteers played a hands-on role in ensuring each child was ready for their first ride. For many of these kids, it wasn’t just about receiving a bike – it was about gaining a newfound sense of confidence and independence.
Providing these kinds of opportunities, where the impact extends far beyond the event itself, is why the Taco Bell Foundation prioritizes community engagement. These experiences inspire youth to dream bigger, pursue their passions, and believe in their potential.
At the Taco Bell Foundation, volunteering is at the heart of our mission. Giving back isn’t just about financial support – it’s about showing up, building connections, and making a real difference in the lives of young people. For our scholars, it’s also a chance to give back to the communities that supported them. Hear more about why they choose to show up in their community for events like these.

“I love volunteering at Taco Bell Foundation events because giving back to the community is something I’m truly passionate about. Growing up in a low-income community, I was once that kid receiving a bike or being part of a program where kind-hearted people helped me grow personally and academically. I deeply appreciate the Taco Bell Foundation for truly listening to communities and providing the resources they need most.”
The bike-building event was a powerful reminder that small actions can lead to big impacts. We’re grateful to the GSF Foundation for inviting us to be part of this meaningful day and to BBBSOC for continuing to be a source of mentorship in its community.
